At 1st Gear Services, we're more than just an epoxy flooring company - we're a team of of passionate professionals committed to delivering an excellent contracting experience. Our approach is simple: deliver high-quality and honest service with a focus on customer satisfaction. Whether you want a flake, solid color, or metallic floor, you can trust that our team will treat your home as if it were our own.
While many flooring contractors specialize with one manufacturers' product line, we have explored them all. We have installed epoxy, polyurea, polyurethane, and polyaspartic coatings with a wide variety of manufacturers including Seal-Krete, ProRez, Floorguard, Dudick, Crown Polymers, and Kretus. This allows us to match the best materials and chemistry for the project at hand while considering your budget, color pallete, and design needs. We will perform moisture readings and scratch tests ahead of the job to select the proper system and diamond tooling for your floor.
Communication throughout scheduling, installation, and completion will set us apart.
While focusing on residential projects early on in the business, the company is slowly incorporating retail, restaurants, religious buildings, and commercial space into our project mix.
People and culture
1st Gear Services strongly believes in self-performing the work. Mike Geary and Sam Reid will install your floor, so you don't have to guess about who will show up on your project on the day of install.
Mike has spent his 20 years specializing in selling coatings, sealants, and adhesives. Highlights of his career include training epoxy coating installers for high- end private aviation and military fighter jets.
Sam grew up in Carlisle, England where he served eight years with the Royal Tank Regiment as a Lance Corporal. He met his wife while in the military and moved to the USA on July 4, 2023. His mechanical aptitude, hard work ethic, and funny banter make him an integral part of the team.
